Our Story

Formed in 2009 with the acquisition of Travel Weekly Group from Reed Business Information, Jacobs Media Group is now the global voice for the travel and hospitality industries. Through shrewd acquisition, investment and organic growth, the company has an unrivalled multiplatform portfolio delivering events, exhibitions and insight on a global scale.

Connecting and informing the global travel and hospitality sectors

Jacobs Media Group is the parent company of leading travel and hospitality media brands including Travel Weekly, The Caterer, Aspire, Travolution and Connections. It was formed in August 2009 following the acquisition of Travel Weekly Group from Reed Business Information by travel industry entrepreneur and founder of car rental giant Holiday Autos, Clive Jacobs.

With a reputation for transforming traditional and often obsolete B2B publications and pioneering new ways to connect and inform its audiences, Jacobs Media Group has developed a market-leading portfolio of brands based in London but with a truly multinational footprint spanning five continents.

It reaches more than 60,000 people every year at its events, attracts over 1,000,000 unique users to its websites every month and has more than 300,000 social media followers across its corporate and team accounts.

In addition to the market-leading brand for the UK travel industry, Travel Weekly, Jacobs Media Group’s acquisitions have included The Caterer (formerly Caterer and Hotelkeeper), the oldest B2B title in Europe with a 145-year legacy, and events including the British Travel and Hospitality Hall of Fame, the Agent Achievement Awards and the UK Sommelier of the Year Competition.

It has also developed and launched a range of complementary events, exhibitions and products, including the luxury travel club Aspire; Connections, the invitation-only community and event specialist for luxury travel executives; the Global Travel & Tourism Resilience Council; and the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers.

From its roots in the UK, the company now has a standalone international division which accounts for a third of its business and works in partnership with leading travel and hospitality brands, associations and governments worldwide. In May 2021 the first overseas office was opened in Dubai, UAE, and the Connecting Travel brand was launched to provide services to the Middle East region.

At the heart of Jacobs Media Group’s impressive growth trajectory, expanding global footprint and thriving multimedia portfolio are its people and unrivalled content. Its editorial, events and digital teams offer unrivalled expertise and first-hand knowledge of the travel and hospitality industries, producing unique, high-quality insight and experiences which cut through the noise.

Whether through its multiplatform editorial content or through its portfolio of more than 160 events and exhibitions worldwide, Jacobs Media Group continues to demonstrate impressive growth and find innovative ways to inform, connect and inspire its audience of travel and hospitality professionals.
