Cultivating a culture of care: How Jacobs Media empowers our team to thrive
At Jacobs Media, we firmly believe that the key to our success lies in the wellbeing and happiness of our people. That's why we've made it a top priority to foster a work environment that nurtures mental health, encourages work-life balance, and empowers our team to be their best selves.
Leading this charge is our dedicated Wellbeing Team – a passionate group of individuals comprising Natalie, Ellie, Daisy, Laura, Caroline, and Josie. This dynamic crew organises a diverse array of initiatives designed to support the holistic needs of our employees.
One of the cornerstones of our wellbeing programme is our regular speaker sessions, which tackle a wide range of mental health topics. Just last month, for example, we invited an expert to deliver a 45-minute workshop on stress management and avoiding burnout – equipping our team with the tools they need to maintain their resilience and avoid burnout.
But it's not all about lectures and seminars. We also believe in the power of physical activity to boost mental wellbeing, which is why we've introduced a regular lunchtime jogging club. And for those who prefer a more leisurely pace, our Wellbeing Team has been organising rejuvenating wellbeing walks around the picturesque St James's Park.
One of the most tangible ways we've prioritised wellbeing is by bringing in-office massages during people's lunch hours. This simple yet impactful initiative allows our employees to take a much-needed break, indulge in some self-care, and return to their desks feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Coming up this month, our Wellbeing Team have organised a baby shower for our colleague Ellie, celebrating the impending arrival of her little one and fostering a sense of community within our organisation.
Of course, it's not all work and no play. Our social activities team, affectionately known as the "Vibe Tribe" – Amy, Fenella, Lauren, Rowan, and Andrew – have been keeping the fun alive with events like a recent rounders match. And this month, they're hosting an indulgent afternoon tea complete with cream cakes and other tasty treats.
At Jacobs Media, we're not just work – we're a team. And like any team, we know that the key to our collective success lies in the happiness and wellbeing of each and every member. That's why we'll continue to invest in initiatives that empower our team, foster a culture of care, and ensure that Jacobs Media remains a place where people can thrive.
