Jacobs Media Group launched the annual Global Travel Week in 2021 to support the recovery and resurgence of the travel industry. Bringing together decision-makers from across the globe, the new travel trade event offers senior delegates the opportunity to network, do business, cooperate through tourism and expand opportunities.
Following the success of the inaugural Global Travel Week in London, the event is set to evolve this autumn. Its 2022 edition will be designed into two principle events to specifically target two markets; Connections Luxury will focus exclusively on the luxury market from Sunday 25 - Tuesday 27 September, whilst Global Travel Marketplace will offer a dedicated platform for the leisure and adventure sector from Wednesday 28 -Thursday 29 September.
A dedicated programme designed in the pioneering Connections Way format, Connections Luxury in London will welcome global tourist boards and their private sector to meet and do business with invited luxury buyers from the UK, as well as a small international contingent. Connections Luxury is exclusively for senior decision-makers in luxury travel to build trust through memorable experiences that lead to long-lasting business relationships.
Building on the recovery of our industry, Global Travel Marketplace is a new initiative that welcomes international travel associations, communities and their partners to participate in one-to-one meetings with leisure and adventure UK buyers. All attendees are at decision-maker level and represent sectors including leisure, adventure and more. The Marketplace will also be an opportunity for all delegates to share ideas and collaborate through moderated workshops, insight sessions, networking lunches and dinners.
Jacobs Media Group launched Global Travel Week in London in September 2021 which saw over 300 decision-makers from across 40 nationalities come together in over 4,000 one-to-one meetings.
A special edition powered by Connections Luxury was hosted in March 2022 in partnership with the Sultanate of Oman Heritage & Tourism. This two-day event welcomed luxury buyers from the GCC, Indian subcontinent and around the world to meet with leading local and international suppliers. Global Travel Week Middle East saw a total of 203 attendees come together and more than 1,000 one-to-one meetings curated in the pioneering Connections Way.
